- Dean Kamen, Founder of FIRST -

What is FIRST?

Denominated as "team of sports for the mind", First Robotics Competition (FRC) combines the enthusiasm from sports with the rigor of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources and time limit, teams of 25 students or more, are required to raise funds, give a brand to the team and construct and program a robot to perform pre made tasks against another team. This is the closest to "real world" engineering that a student can obtain. Professional mentors from previous years volunteer their time and talent to guide the team.

Mission

Our mission is to inspire kids to become leaders in science and technology, including them in programs based on Mentors that change science, engineering and technology into habilites that inspire innovation, and that foment trust, communication and leadership skills.

Global FIRST

Championship

The FIRST championship is the culmination of the FIRST season programs, joining three different robotics competitions in the most extreme and complete "mind sport". This event includes the championship from the competition FIRST (FRC), the global championship of First Tech Challenge (FTC) y the global festival championship of the FIRST Lego League (FLL). It is also present in the global exposition of the Junior FIRST LEGO League (Jr. FLL).
